We are seeking an individual with a demonstrated track-record of client engagement and management, including business development for either insurance, reinsurance or structured products. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and who is interested in a long-term career within finance, capital markets, or reinsurance.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for the ILS asset class with potential investors, aiming to onboard multiple private credit and multi-strategy funds per year.
- Manage client and investor relationships, ensuring consistent engagement and satisfaction to drive repeat investments.
- Reduce due diligence timelines by 20% on average by understanding each investors process and where Augment Risk can facilitate decision making.
- Build and explain deal models clearly to support investor decision-making.
- Prepare term sheets and investment memos that align with investor goals and streamline the execution process.
- Oversee collaboration with third-party broker-dealers and service providers.
- Simplify and explain securitization and reinsurance fundamentals to enhance investor understanding.
- Coordinate sales and marketing initiatives to grow ILS placements, closing 1–2 trades per quarter from the pipeline of ILS opportunities.
- Develop high-impact marketing collateral and partnership pitches to attract new investors and business opportunities.
- Represent Augment Risk at key industry conferences and events to elevate brand visibility and establish new connections.
Experience
Successful candidates will have all the following attributes:
- Desire to work at start up with a dynamic environment
- Graduate of an accredited university or college
- 10+ years of experience in structured finance, investment banking or reinsurance
- Ability to build collaborative and long-term trading relationships
- Ability to develop and deliver on business strategy
- Ability to model, explain and negotiate complex financial products
- Have an existing network of potential ILS investors
- Existing knowledge of reinsurance or strong desire to learn the principles of reinsurance
- Completion of a banking or insurance analyst program
- MBA in Finance
- CFA or Risk Management certification
- Licensing for SIE, Series 63, Series 79 a plus
- The ability to leverage an extensive network of prospects/opportunities
